Sexual health peptides work through central nervous system pathways rather than direct vascular mechanisms — making them effective for both men and women. PT-141 (Bremelanotide) activates melanocortin receptors in the hypothalamus to increase sexual desire. Kisspeptin stimulates the HPG axis and testosterone production. Oxytocin enhances bonding and arousal. These represent a fundamentally different approach to sexual dysfunction than PDE5 inhibitors.

PT-141

Bremelanotide, melanocortin receptor agonist

Mechanism

Activates MC1R, MC3R, and MC4R receptors in the brain. Central mechanism — works on hypothalamic circuits for arousal, not peripheral blood flow. Effective in both men and women.
