Peptide Storage Guide
Proper storage is the difference between effective and degraded peptides. Here are the rules — no exceptions.
📋
Lyophilized (Powder) Peptides
Unopened vials stored correctly can last 12–24+ months:
• Temperature: -20°C (standard freezer)
• Keep away from moisture and light
• Do not open vials in humid conditions
• Transport: ice pack for shipping, minimize time at room temperature
• At room temperature: stable for short periods (days), but don't make a habit of it
📋
Reconstituted Peptides (in BAC Water)
Once you add BAC water:
• Temperature: 2–8°C (standard fridge, NOT the door where temperatures fluctuate)
• Shelf life: 60–90 days with BAC water
• NEVER freeze reconstituted peptides — freezing forms ice crystals that break peptide bonds
• Keep away from light (wrap in foil or store in dark area of fridge)
• Write the reconstitution date on the vial
• Discard if: cloudy (after settling), precipitate forms, smells off, or past 90 days
💡
BAC Water
Opened BAC water vials:
• Stable for 30 days after opening
• Keep refrigerated after opening
• The benzyl alcohol preservative extends the vial's useful life but doesn't last forever
• Date the vial when opened
• Sealed/unopened: store per manufacturer instructions (room temp is usually fine)
⚠️
Temperature Excursions
If your peptides were left out overnight or shipped in warm conditions:
• Lyophilized powder: usually fine for 1–3 days at room temperature
• Reconstituted: assess visually — if clear and looks fine, generally still usable if <24 hours
• When in doubt, discard. The cost of degraded peptides is wasted effort and money.
